Getting started

On first launch a short setup helps you add your profile (name, currency, sizes), a first wish or two, and your preferences. You can skip any step and finish it later from Profile.

Home

Your dashboard: a greeting, three stat pills (lists, people, events) that jump to each section, an Upcoming Occasions carousel for the next 30 days, and your most recently updated lists.

Lists

All your wish lists. Filter by type (Birthday, Christmas, Wedding, Baby Shower, Other), show or hide archived lists, and sort Newest-first or A–Z. Each list can have a cover image, a person it's for, an event date with optional repeat, and a description. Open a list to manage its items; the 3-dot menu edits, archives, or deletes it.

Items

Add items to a list with a name, optional description, price, link, and image. Each item has a status — Available, Reserved, or Purchased — and an optional "Reserved by" note. Use "Hide when sharing" to keep a specific item out of a shared list.

People

Everyone you gift for, grouped alphabetically. A person can have a nickname, relationship (shown as a coloured chip), date of birth, photo, notes, and any number of important dates. Open a person to see their assigned wish lists.

Important dates

A single timeline of upcoming birthdays and occasions. Add a date to a person with an optional repeat (weekly, monthly, annually). Wish-list event dates can appear here too — toggle that in Preferences.

Profile & sizes

Your name, date of birth, currency, photo, and a completeness indicator. From here you reach My Sizes (Shoes, Tops, Bottoms, Dresses in UK/US/EU), Preferences, Important Dates, App Settings, and Help.

Preferences

Choose Light, Dark, or System theme; turn occasion reminders on/off and set how many days before; toggle Reduce Transparency; and choose whether wish-list dates show on Important Dates.

Settings & data

Export all your data to a single backup file, Import a file (replacing or merging), or Clear all data. Nothing leaves your device unless you export or share.

Sharing & reservations

Share a list as plain text via any app; your own lists also include your sizes. Item statuses and "Reserved by" let gift-givers coordinate without spoiling surprises.

Privacy

In this version (V1) Genie's Wishlists has no account and no cloud — everything stays on your device, and nothing is collected, shared, or stored anywhere off it. A future Pro version (V2) will add optional remote storage to sync across your own devices and to share lists with friends and family who use the app; it will always be opt-in. FAQ

Do I need an account? No. Is my data private? Yes — in this version it never leaves your device unless you Share or Export it. How do I move to a new phone? Export, then Import on the new device. What's coming next? A future Pro version will let you sync across your own devices and share lists with friends and family who also use the app.
